Three notebooks with visible stitching

In this workshop, you will learn how to make softcover notebooks and single-signature notebooks and work with soft cardboard, fabrics, and paper.

Two notebooks will be covered with binding cloth, and the third will be covered with a beautiful fabric that I will teach you to laminate beforehand so you can create your projects with the fabrics you like the most. We will also add coloured endpapers and sew them with three visible stitching techniques.

I will also teach you how to make a punching cradle, a basic take-home technique. This will facilitate the manual hole punching of the signatures for your future bookbinding projects.

You will learn the processes, tricks, and basic techniques to assist you in other bookbinding tasks.

Boxes

In this workshop, you will learn the entire process needed for building a box and how to work with paper and cardboard.

You will learn how to take the necessary measurements, construct the box from scratch, and cover it with paper so that later, from your home, you can build your boxes of all sizes and different shapes to store whatever you wish.

Binding à deux rapporté

In this workshop, you will learn to create the à deux rapporté binding designed by Benjamin Elbel. This type of binding is elegant and straightforward, allowing for a complete book opening.

You will form signatures and sew them with French stitching, work on the spine and the à deux rapportè construction, and learn how to measure cardboard to make the covers, which we will cover with paper and fabric. You will learn the processes, tricks, and basic techniques to help you in other bookbinding projects.

A3 Folder and Case Set

In this workshop, you will learn the entire process for constructing an A3 folder and a case with a closure.

You will learn to take the necessary measurements and assemble a folder and a case. You will cover them with fabric and decorated papers and apply ribbons or elastic bands. The entire process is carried out from scratch so that later, from home, you can build your own cases and folders.

Japanese Bookbinding

In this workshop, you will learn how to do Japanese bookbinding, working with cardboard, paper, and fabrics.
