Bookbinding and Cartonnage Course
The objectives of this course are to discover the artisan craft of bookbinding and the arts of book and cartonnage, learn different techniques, materials, and work tools, and enhance personal and professional development.
The course is aimed at book lovers, paper enthusiasts, manual and artisan workers, artists, artisans, bookbinders, designers, fine arts students, and anyone interested in bookbinding.
During the course, the following subjects will be covered:
- Introduction to the techniques of artisanal, artistic, and creative bookbinding.
- Knowledge of different types of bindings and stitches, cases, and book protective boxes.
- Basic notions of book and paper restoration.
- Initiation into cartonnage, where you will learn to develop boxes, folders, notebooks, photo albums, etc., from scratch, all in different formats and techniques.
The course is ongoing, with weekly classes in small groups, and you can join at any time. You don’t need any prior knowledge, but each student can follow their own pace. If you have bookbinding knowledge, there is no problem in joining the group because each student progresses according to their knowledge and objectives.
The course is entirely practical. You will carry out different projects and works, use traditional and modern materials, and work with machinery and tools specific to the craft.

- A maximum of 4 students per group will be used to adapt to the pace of each student and provide personalised attention.
- Schedule options:
- 4 hours a week.
- 2 hours a week.
